eIDV (Electronic Identity Verification)

Electronic Identity Verification (eIDV) is a digital identity-proofing service that allows individuals to verify their identity remotely via a live or recorded video session, without visiting a branch or physical location.

During the session, the user presents a government-issued identity document (passport, national ID, or driver's license) to a camera. The system captures both the document and a live image of the user's face, then performs:

• Document authenticity checks (security features, format, and data fields)

• Biometric facial matching (comparing the document photo to the live capture)

• Liveness detection (confirming the person is physically present, not using a photo or recording)

Verification can run through automated AI-driven analysis, a live human agent, or a hybrid of both. The output is a pass/fail or risk-scored result, often accompanied by extracted document data (name, date of birth, document number, expiry date) that feeds into onboarding, KYC, or AML workflows. In regulated markets, eIDV services typically meet recognized identity-assurance standards such as eIDAS in the EU.
