The FintechOS Companies House Connector accesses Companies House public company records in order to retrieve the needed information. Once a company search is made through the Search option, the information is also displayed under the below categories. This offers bank clerks better data structure and easy access to specific information.

1 Access Companies House Connector

1. Log into the FintechOS Portal using the given credentials.

2. From the main menu expand My Projects and click Companies House - Search company.

3. Select Search. The Search List page opens.

4. At the top-right corner of the scree, click the Insert button. The Edit Companies House Search - Company Search page opens.

2 Search for Company Data

5. In the search bar of the Edit Companies House Search - Company Search page, fill in the following field:

The Company Registration Number (CRN) is unique to the limited company or LLP. It can be found on the certificate of incorporation and any official documentation received from Companies House. The CRN is also displayed on the public register of companies, which can be accessed online via Companies House Service.
  
HINT  
When entering a company name in the search bar, it returns any matches found in the database. For example, for the term "cheapside", the results displayed are not only company names, but also addresses.

6. Click the Next button. A list with companies' data is generated.

7. From the generated list, select the wanted record.

8. Click the Next button. The Edit Companies House Search - Checkbox page opens.

3 Filter Company Data

In the Edit Companies House Search - Checkbox page, filter the information by selecting the desired categories from the checkboxes.

The profile of the company. The following information is retrieved:

  • company number - the Company Registration Number (CRN) is unique to the limited company or LLP.

  • company status - provides information on the viability or current trading position of a company. Possible values:

    1. closed: the company is no longer active and it does not need to submit any further information to Companies House.

    2. active: the company has made significant accounting transactions during its most recent accounting period, normally the last 12 months.

    3. receivership: this means that a receiver has been appointed.

    4. voluntary arrangement: this means that the company is insolvent.

    5. liquidation: depending on the circumstances, the liquidation process can be voluntary or compulsory.

    6. transferred from the UK: the company has transferred to a jurisdiction outside the UK.

    7. active - proposal to strike off: if the annual accounts are filed late, the company can be struck-off by Companies House and depending on the circumstances, it can cease to exist.

    8. dissolved: the company is in the process of being removed or struck off the Company Register.

    9. in administration: the company is unable to pay its debts and has been placed in administration by someone that manages its affairs on behalf of the creditors.

  • registered office address - the company's official address. It must be a physical location where notices, letters and reminders can be delivered to the company.

  • company type - the company type. Possible values:

    1. Public companies limited by shares

    2. Public companies limited by guarantee

    3. Societates Europaeae

      NOTE  
      After Brexit, Societates Europaeae are no longer formed in the UK. Societates Europaeae or SEs registered in the UK on the 1st of January 2021, are automatically converted to UK Societates.
    4. Unlimited companies

    5. Private companies limited by shares

    6. Private companies limited by guarantee

    7. Community interest companies, on behalf of the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies

    8. Companies incorporated by Royal Charter

    9. Some overseas companies with a physical presence in the UK

9. Click the Next button. The Edit Companies House Search - Results page opens.

10. In the Edit Companies House Search - Results page, the company data is displayed.

11. Click the Finish button. The Search List page is displayed.
